• You must be a strong swimmer to join this trip.
• We refund 50% of the cost if you don’t see whales.
• This is Natural wild life tour, it's not like going to zoo and watch animals, for example: Some days sea may not clear , whales may active ect, So we do our best but you need some luck , there are some explorers who sucess on their first day and some get success on thier 4th or 5th day.
• Touching / disturbing the animals are prohibited.
• We do provide snorkeling equipment (mask, fins ect.).
• Permit from wild life Authority is needed for this.
• We do not harass the whales.
• On any given day we will never guarantee swimming with a whale. We are at the mercy of the whales themselves and other influencing factors such as weather and sea conditions. We will never harass a whale to get a swim and we will abide by the Laws of Sri Lanka in permitted interactions.
• The opportunity to swim with whales is a privilege. The act of swimming with whales is an art. Every day is different on the water, and every encounter is unique. We swim with whales most days, but on some days this may only be briefly. Other days we swim for longer periods. We have known days where we have not swum with whales and that’s the reason we advocate multi-day trips– so that by the end of your tour we expect to have helped you experience a range of encounters with these incredible animals.

• If you have not had the experience of diving — you need a lesson on diving. It costs $30, takes 45 minutes. Immediately after the lesson, you can do your first diving

Sri Lanka is considered one of the best places in the world, where you can observe on the largest animals on earth - blue whales, which are on the verge of extinction. Blue whales have chosen the coast of an island of paradise and can be observed in their natural habitat along the southern coast. In total, 80 species of whales were recorded in all the oceans of the planet Earth, 26 of them were observed and were recorded in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.

Despite the year-round migration, to observe underwater inhabitants it is necessary to go out into the open ocean, which is possible only in a period without storms, this is precisely what caused the period of whale watching.

The whale watching tour in the south of Sri Lanka runs every day from November to May. Departure come from a tourist village in the south of the island - Mirissa. You should be at the pier at 6:30 in the morning.

The tour takes place on a boat with a maximum capacity of 40 people. The duration of the tour is 4-5 hours.

Besides blue whales, you can also see:
